Here are some papers and general madness I keep on my desk. Gun cup, sword letter opener, ship, and more. Just another general blog update - I won't be blogging on any other site, but this one. I'll try and blog everyday with something new.

TATTOO In Progress

I recently got a email about designing a tattoo for a client in Australia. I was really excited about working on this project especially since he had a very clear idea in terms of what he wanted. It's nice to have room to create, but at the same time it's nice for a commission job to have some boundaries.  His email read:

My concept for the tattoo is the dichotomy of powers. I am an Australian born Chinese, parents are from Hong Kong and I feel as though I am between two worlds, but of both of them. I am also a Pisces, the sign of eternal internal conflict and struggle, yet bound as one. Being of eastern background but living in a western society makes me feel as though there are two forces that govern my life, yet i sit comfortably with my heritage and my the society i grew up in.

Ideally i would like a perhaps to mermen facing eachother, almost like a typical pisces sign representing two opposing fish. Perhaps they could be holding polar objects, e.g. a lock and a key, or two different national flowers, a peony rose and an english rose. Could you also somehow draw the mermen to look like they are of different nationalities? One with a moustache and one without?
Here is my working second draft.
